Guests will have the opportunity to experience the cultural and traditional side of Dubai on this half day tour which will mainly take place in the old parts of the city. Our tour starts with a stop at the Jumeirah Mosque which showcases modern Islamic architecture. En route to the creek, guests will get a glimpse of the magnificent palaces belonging to the ruling Al Maktoum family of Dubai. Guests will arrive at the oldest part of Dubai, the Bastakia where they will stop for a while to admire the traditional old wind tower houses with their splendid architecture, and walk through the fine examples of the earliest forms of air-conditioning invented, with a short walk around the heritage area and a visit to the museum. We continue our journey by Abra - the local water taxis that criss-cross the creek - onto the bustling alleys of the renowned gold and spice souqs. The brilliantly illuminated gold souqs are where more than 200 gold shops display dazzling jewellery, varying from traditional pieces to the latest designs at amazingly affordable prices. The spice souqs are filled with the most wonderful aromas and colours.
Cultural and Heritage Tour, Sharjah and Ajman - Full day tour
The Emirate of Sharjah, neighbouring Dubai, was voted the cultural capital of the Arab world in 1998 - a tribute to the city's rich Islamic heritage. We start our tour with a photo stop at the Quran roundabout where we will view traditional Arabic architecture. After a short drive, we pass by the Palace of the Ruler of Sharjah and the souq Al Majarrah with its stunning golden dome. We pass Al Hisn fort - built almost 200 years ago, it was a traditional residence of the ruling family. A brief walk will take us to the heritage village or souq, which in the early days was the central market. Today, you can walk through this beautifully restored souq with its narrow alleys and buy, among many things, old wooden dhows, dates and tobacco leaves. Across the souq is the age old Al Naboodah House, a fine example of exquisite Arabic architecture. Our tour then takes us to the busy vegetable and fruit market, the fish market, the King Faisal mosque with its Islamic centre and then onwards to the lagoon with its beautiful parks. Our tour would not be complete without a visit to the famous blue souq, where over 600 shops showcase a fabulous variety of merchandise including gold, antiques and perfumes. Lunch is included at a 5 star hotel in Ajman.
Dune Drive Safari - Half day tour
Guests depart to the desert of Arabia for an excursion that will be one of the highlights of your visit to Dubai. Guests depart by 4WD vehicles with 4 guests and a driver per car. During this excursion our guests will have the opportunity to explore the vast, silent ocean of golden-hued sand dunes with experienced drivers. Our guests experience exciting 'dune bashing', which literally means bashing the dunes with the thrill of going up and down slopes, provoking shrieks of laughter and tons of excitement. Mid way in the desert, we introduce you to our camels, where you have the opportunity of riding one of the magnificent 'ships of the desert'. For those amongst you who still require more thrills and excitement, you can try out sand boarding amongst the dunes. (Who says you need snow!)
Shopping Tour - Half day tour
This tour will start by taking our guests to experience shopping in Karama which is one of the oldest shopping areas in Dubai. The shops here run both sides of the street and continue for approximately 200 meters. This area is where you can purchase your fake 'designer' articles at unbelievable prices! Shopkeepers here welcome you inside to browse the numerous items available and you can barter for anything that takes your fancy. After spending some time here, you will be transferred to a totally different style of shopping - The Dubai Mall. The Dubai Mall covers 12.1 million square feet, comprising 1200 stores. Featured attractions include the world's largest gold souq, the 850,000 square foot fashion island, with 70 flagship stores dedicated to haute couture. If you need a break from shopping, the mall also houses one of the world's largest aquariums, an Olympic sized ice skating rink and a stunning waterfront atrium with a view of the world's tallest building, the Burj Dubai.
East Coast Tour - Full day tour
Dibba, Khorfakkan, Fujairah and Kalba conjure up images of ancient seaport towns, which are now modern resort cities on the coast of the Arabian sea. The drive to the East coast takes us through spectacular scenery, as we take the long and winding route through the green oasis of Al Dhaid to the craggy rocky range of the Al Hajjar mountains, before descending to the coast. The crystal blue seas are ideal for both swimming and diving. En route we pass Masafi - known for its fresh water springs. The small town of Dibba is interestingly divided into three parts belonging to the Emirates of Sharjah, Fujairah and Oman. Our guests then proceed to view the ancient Badiya mosque. You then proceed southward towards Fujairah, where you discover some of the most beautiful and unspoilt beaches of the Indian Ocean. Here you will visit the Fujairah fort and the Oasis of Bitnah. Once we arrive in Masafi, you will glimpse the unhurried pace of rural life at a roadside market popularly known as the 'Friday Market'.
Deep Sea Fishing - Half day tour
Dubai is definitely one of the biggest sailfish destinations in the world. The warm and shallow waters of the Arabian Gulf provide plenty of plankton for the vast shoals of sardines that are followed by sailfish. Sea conditions are calm with good visibility and the sailfish are caught approximately 40 miles offshore in only 30 metres of water. Participating guests will be transferred to the marina in the early morning for their 4 hour excursion (approximately). The boats are the best available in the Gulf and to be successful in deep sea fishing, a thorough knowledge about the methods and fishing equipment is necessary. Our skippers, therefore, are all very experienced, with an excellent knowledge of sport fishing. Fish that can be caught in the gulf much nearer to all the marinas are kingfish, queenfish, dourado (dolphin), long tail tuna, giant trevally, bonito, spanish mackerel, cobia and barracudas. Blue sharks can also be seen.
Discover Modern Dubai - Half day tour
Guests will proceed to the Emaar office to participate in the unique tour of the models and the mock set up of the residence area. Burj Dubai, hailed as the world's most prestigious address, will position Dubai among the leading cities of the world, driving tourists to the landmark architecture each year. This will encompass residential, commercial, hotel, entertainment and the world's largest shopping mall. From here, the tour continues on to the Nakheel office where the group will be shown a video presentation of the Palm Jumeirah and The World project, followed by a question and answer session afterwards. Our last stop will be at the Dubailand Project; this is an entertainment complex which is under development. Dubailand is the vision of Dubai's current ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The development is expected to be a fully featured city, divided into six theme worlds. The short range goal of Dubailand is to attract 15 million tourists to Dubai by 2010.
Abu Dhabi City Tour - Full day tour
Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the United Arab Emirates, is situated on a small peninsula surrounded by a cluster of islands. The city was founded in 1761 by a Sheikh of the Bani Yas tribe. Our route from Dubai to Abu Dhabi takes us past the Dubai Free Zone and Jebel Ali Port - the world's largest man made sea port. The tour covers a variety of interesting highlights of the Heritage Village. The drive takes the guest past beautiful cornice and the interesting sights that abound in the city of Abu Dhabi. The city is popularly refereed to as the 'Manhattan of the Gulf' because of the profusion of ultra modern skyscrapers. The guests travel to the part of the city where most of the palaces are located and then move on to Al Husn, the old fort of Abu Dhabi where the city's history began. Along the way, guests will come across well manicured parks and gardens. A wonderful encounter with a bustling metropolis, which still maintains all the charm of a bygone era!
The Caravan Trail (Al Ain tour) - Full day tour
Al Ain, located in the Eastern part of the Emirate Abu Dhabi, is situated in an opulent terrain dotted with abundant groundwater springs. In the past, this oasis town used to be a necessary stop-over on the caravan trail from the United Arab Emirates to the Sultanate of Oman and vice versa. Before proceeding to the museum, we drive past the seat of education in the United Arab Emirates - the Al Ain University, which was established in 1977. The museum is built in the gardens surrounding an old fort which was built around the turn of the century. It is said that the late Sheikh Zayed, the Ruler of Abu Dhabi and the President of the UAE, spent a part of his childhood there. The Museum has an Ethnographical and Archeological section. Step back into the past, with a walk through the truly enchanting oasis, where we have the opportunity to see an excellent example of 'Falaj' - the ancient irrigation system. We also visit the Hili Gardens and the amazing archeological sights where a village settlement and a burial ground dating back to over 2700BC have been unearthed. This tour covers one of the country's only remaining camel markets where it is possible to choose and buy one at a bargain!
